THIS. Kids don't deserve being fed fucking slop all the time.

@beardalaxy
Kids love the edgy stuff for a reason. It helps them understand the actual world they will be living in.

I seriously don't understand, where the parentsl need to brainrot their childern is comming from.

@William_The_Dragonborn @LukeAlmighty @tomie shit like avatar, sonic, and Naruto were really formative for me and are definitely things I can still watch/play today. They have a lot of depth.

@tomie @beardalaxy
Ok... Now, I am about 99.999% sure, the new movie will avoid making the government look evil.

@beardalaxy I kinda understand that when you make something 'for everyone', the lowest common denominator is 'boys', but would you look at losers on the internet outright seething when creators target girls and girls' problems
I still see middle aged losers absolutely foaming at the mouth because Turning Red dared to acknowledge periods, because "it's for kids!!1", well when were you going to tell your hypothetical daughter about periods? at 16? congratulations, you're about 7 years too late

@tomie there are other problems with turning red lol. Idk about the original but the Pixar movie yeah.

My stories are adult themed, so it's not my field. But the disdain for children's storytelling is the same for animation. It's regarded as lesser cause children don't have a particularly refined taste.

I think it's bs on all accounts. Children's stories should be held to an even higher regard and deeper scrutiny cause they are consuming those stories in their formative years. They'll learn from those stories, so they ought to be made sure they are high quality.

Adults, on the other hand, have already formed a moral code, for better or worse. So they get to pick and choose whatever they want to consume.

But the disdain towards childrens entertainment and animation as a medium only appears on snobs. It's just bad for culture.
