@Mr_NutterButter yeah so the horror game test demo thing is going to be voxel based. whether i use simple polygons or not for the REAL horror game depends on if the engine i'm using for it has implemented that feature by the time i get around to it.
god's disdain 2 is probably going to go back to 2d. it's going to be a tactics rpg and i would feel waaaay more comfortable making something like that in rpg maker. a horror game is heaps more simple as far as all of the mechanics go. i also just like the idea of nice looking 2D for tactics games instead of it being a lower quality 3d, if that makes sense. the lower quality 3d for a horror game works really well because it plays into the "less is more" aspect of horror. with a tactics rpg, i'd want to go either 2d or at the very minimum like ps2/gamecube graphics, and i don't possess the capability to do the latter on my own.
@xianc78 @Mr_NutterButter yeah easyrpg is basically rm2003 with enhancements. I like the visual style a lot but I'm not sure if it would work well for a tactics game. I'll have to look into it when the time comes. Who knows, maybe something else is out there that's better. I know there is a specific "tactics rpg maker" too. That project is ~5 years away though so yeah, who knows.
@beardalaxy @Mr_NutterButter If you use EasyRPG your game can be played on emulation consoles and handhelds.
