Wait a minute...
Playstation has no exclusives
Xbox has no exclusives

Are console wars finally over?

@LukeAlmighty @matrix fewer exclusives is an objectively positive thing. Everyone whined constantly about how many exclusives last gen had. Now it's some weird gotcha this gen?
Sony doesn't give a shit anyway if VGChartz is half reliable.

@Kallian @matrix
You are literally comparing 2 consoles with 0 exclusives.

I am not sure what ai should see in that graph.

@LukeAlmighty @matrix I've only ever seen people doomtalk about the PS5 and shit on it/Sony for being dead. The PS5 is doing fine compared to the Xbox.
@LukeAlmighty @matrix Frankly I think they're both garbage and I've not had a console in a couple gens now, but still.
@Lumeinshin @matrix it's a terrible era to be a playstation fan. Even if xbox games come to PC, MS and Xbox benefit massively. Unless sony does something, they are fucked
@MischievousTomato @matrix
I think the sunk cost + hardware is enough atm to keep them in the ecosystem. at least for now, but yeah they are running quite the risk, pc hardware costs are the only thing helping them atm funnily enough
@Lumeinshin @matrix yeah. but at some point people have to realize that theres no point on a console whose games come to pc
@MischievousTomato @matrix
well thats what we all say, all the time for everything
politics being the prime example ofc
and windows users :smugi: (i think you still use it right?)

@Lumeinshin @MischievousTomato The consoles are probably being sold at close to zero profit and they are relying on subscriptions and massively selling 70€ AAA releases

@matrix @MischievousTomato
they are, for now :dango_wink:
idk how they'll cope in say 5-10 years tho, wouldnt surprise me if they push harder for streaming basically pcs, will be interesting to see how the market changes
@Lumeinshin I entered the 8th gen on PS4, following a long stint with my X360. I wanted to believe Sony had learned from their previous mistakes (some but not all) and supported their efforts using BSD software in a way that benefited my experience. Turns out my previous acknowledgement of the 'real engineers' having already left struck home as MS turned their XB1 around to the point where it was a better value proposition. The PS4 stayed as it was IMO.

The PS5 was designed by idiots with 90+°C RAM and using liquid metal to cover for their cooling flaws. Aside from hardware costs (which are coming down again), parents buy their kids PlayStations because they have better control over it compared to PCs. When it breaks, they can ask Sony to fix it rather than returning it to a retailer and losing more than they would in Sony's ecosystem. I think the convenience is what keeps Sony afloat, especially for those already locked in.

YUKARI YOU FUCKING NORMALFAG REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT
@matrix my instance is hosted by a poor eastslav he dont have no money for videouploads...

wait you are one too

@matrix Whereas on MS side, I don't there's any game that did not also released on Xbox One or on PC.

@matrix For sure, I was saying that on a "must buy the console" kind of game

Do people actually play Ratchet and Clank games? I've never met someone who has
I remember a friend of mine religiously played it on the PS2 back in the day
@KonataWagner @matrix An ex of mine was really, really into both them and Spyro.
@matrix @KonataWagner @matrix I play ratchet and clank rift apart and my Good God have I never played a more, shut off my brain game. it just was smash shit and kill that and platform to over there. I felt the graphics are nice, the audio is crisp and nice. I only played around 5ish hours. It was just really an ok game.
@CentaurBreeder @matrix @KonataWagner I've played the trilogy and deadlocked over and over again on ps2. Tried tools of destruction when I was roommate with a guy that had a ps3, it just wasn't the same...
@matrix @mer @matrix @KonataWagner I never played the originals, one of my buddies were preaching to the choir about the games. He told me I should go and play the new one, so He gave me his copy and I felt really bored playing that game. Reminds me of the feeling I had playing Borderlands 3 I overhyped myself for that game like retard and after beating it twice I wanted to kill myself for a week.
@CentaurBreeder @matrix @KonataWagner RaC2 blows any ps2 era games out of the water.
The movement is way more fluid, like not even using speedrun moves, there's a diagonal sideflip that's just a move you can do, makes movement very satisfying.
There's way more content and well designed levels.
But I would still have eaten up ToD if they didn't completely change everyone's personality and the tone of the worldbuilding. It went from silly but the joke is always "late stage capitalism, flagrant incompetence and selling WMD to children" to some generic universe savior bullshit and throw in some robot pirates because we're soooooo random
@matrix @mer @matrix @KonataWagner yeah that so random bullshit, gets tiring quick. it can be done right but not often
I think the gameplay of the Borderlands games was great, but the humor was very annoying
@matrix @KonataWagner @mer @matrix I think it was funny during its time a little bit. But they did a weird mix of "Thats so random" humor and tried to add modern humor. they should have done one or the other, it would be better than both. Its just a shame they took fucking 7 years to make a make the same gameplay with slightly more guns with real fucking shitty humor.
@matrix @MemeLandfill @mer @matrix @KonataWagner one idea guy and 20 people sharing a quarter of a brainwashed brain cell. fucking subhuman filth.
@matrix @matrix b-b-but it has better graphics. Are all game companies murdering their fucking idea guys. All the games being released right now are remasters and sequels?
