@J I can't check on my phone but last I saw, hundreds of people were using #Coronavirus. Of course #COVID_19 is allowed, that's more politically correct. Right?
I'd be inclined to agree with you if the trending list here didn't consistently and organically update here, but it does. 💁🏾♂️
Admins are allowed to blacklist hashtags from trending, IIRC. It's a feature, not a bug. Still, it bugs me.

@realcaseyrollins @J It definitely should, both are mainly from remote instances. I have no clue how the trends work than. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@realcaseyrollins @J I tried reading the code a bit and it looks like it doesn't count hashtags from bot accounts toward trends so that might be the reason
