@matrix @beardalaxy It's not like you can't have a separate chat on something like Matrix, IRC, XMPP, or Discord. A live podcast I use to watch back in middle school had their chat on a separate IRC channel.

That's definitely true but having the chat right next to the stream seems more user-friendly

But Peertube doesn't have chat by default and I'm too lazy to setup the plugin.
