Well, they could say it's Atari 2600 retro and not SNES retro?

@7ScreamingDizBusters @xianc78 The atari would not really look like the one on the right either as it has to follow certain pixel placements.

@bebe @7ScreamingDizBusters The Atari 2600 also used hardware sprites. The Halo 2600 homebrew used a hardware sprite that was meant to be used for a ball in Pong to create Master Chief's face.

@bebe
I wasn't making my point based on autistic levels of specific pixel placements of the Atari. The point is that shitty lowres sprites exist in retro systems depending on generation.

@xianc78
Retro game devs were using every trick immaginable to make good games on avaiable hardware.

Hipsters: oh look
Big blocks
Me like big blocks

@xianc78
And when I think about it, it's amazing to realize just how mich work went into making Metroid Dread as similar to the original games as possible by limiting the gameplay to exactly the same formula, and making every single object and animation fit the original 2D world as well as possible...

But hipsters didn't notice that one. strange...

@LukeAlmighty I still find it jarring seeing 3D objects limited to 2D movement though.

@xianc78 Yes the one on the right is easier to make so that is what they use. Thank you friend.
