Long rant, not directed towards you in particular but everyone thinking Nintendo could just poof games onto a new platform.

@beardalaxy @picandor Putting GB/GBC/GBA games on Switch should be a no brainer. As of now, they are only officially available on Wii U and 3DS, and creating an emulator for those systems is not that hard compared to 3D systems that require HLE and plug-ins for different games to emulate.

I understand that 3DS emulation would be difficult because even Citra is still far from perfect and Wii U emulation on Switch is out of the question. You are better off making native ports which Nintendo is basically doing already. I wish they would make the Wii U GamePad compatible with the Switch though because it was a unique concept and would allow more Wii U ports without making sacrifices.

>but Nintendo, for the most part, has a lot of stuff going on in-house from Mario to Kirby to Zelda and so on.

Nintendo owns first-party studios. Kirby is owned by HAL and Intelligent Systems (those behind Fire Emblem) usually helps Nintendo with emulation stuff.

If you want the real reason IMO it boils down more to rights I bet. At least for third party games because that's the big problem with the Xbox 360/original BC.
