@beardalaxy I stopped caring after Notch sold Mojang to Microsoft and broke his promise of eventually open sourcing the game.
@beardalaxy Notch said on his blog that selling Mojang to Microsoft was not about the money, but rather about his sanity (all the drama surrounding Minecraft including the then-recent EULA controversy). If he didn't care about the money, he could've just open-sourced it, and if it was public domain, Microsoft could just create their own proprietary fork while everyone else can enjoy open-source Minecraft.
@xianc78 i guess the problem was that the sales never started to die lol
