@beardalaxy I think it's important to point out that lolicon is banned in the U.K. (where this case occured) as CSAM, so, ironically, if it was legalized/decriminalized, then maybe this person wouldn't have done what they did...

Lolicon is CSAM, according to their own definition. It was most likely 242 lolicon images, you know, the stuff you jack it too.
@beardalaxy making something illegal actually tends to motivate people who are already committing crimes to do more crimes, because they're already committing crimes.
Aren't you familiar with the "war on drugs"?
My point was that decriminalizing lolicon (at the very least) could help prevent people from "gateway"-ing into real life abuse by not making them think they're a criminal from the start.
You know, like the argument for weed legalisation.
