I think I can see it now.
Hedonism is more "moderate" than most assume.
In most (i.e. Abrahamic) religions, you have all these "sins", where, allegedly, society can't engage in them because they'll corrupt or destroy it.
Yet, in times of war, there are no inhibitions on "sin" anymore. People go out and rob, rape, murder etc... at will. One of the great ironies about the "Crusades" was that many "Knights" went on them to remove their "sins" from previous wars in Europe. It was a "cleansing" (both internal and external) operation.
So, that begs the question.
Which society is more moderate?
The one that aknowledges pleasure and does not seek to restrict it (or at least, to restrict it only when it leads to physical or psychological harm to others - i.e. when there is no consent) or the one which represses pleasure until it explodes during war leading to things like the destruction and looting of cities and ancient artifacts, mass-murder, mass-rape, sex-slaves etc...?
The Amerimuttification of the European polity is just such a horrifying crime against humanity.
I think it will be seen as such in the future.
It permeates everything; all levels. Europeans are only now openly speaking out about it, but for years many people were voicing their displeasure with it in private, even Americans living in Europe.
There needs to be a sea-change in the "Western" world, but it won't happen in Europe.
It will, indeed, it must happen in America, the belly of the beast.
These fucking "charities" are a major reason, I think, why people end up committing abuse against real children in real life.
The person seeing that becomes paranoid and eventually thinks "in for a penny, in for a pound" "might as well".
It's paradoxical.
In trying to "stop it now!", they end up "gateway"-ing people themselves.
Typical American-type moralistic overreaction leading to spike in "criminality" (prohibition period, war on drugs etc...). It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's ouroboros.
These "charities" wouldn't survive without real life abuse (if there was no "problem", they wouldn't be needed now, would they?), so they have a vested interest in perpetuating (even increasing) the rate of real life abuse.

Meanwhile, the new administration openly revels in killing civilians to get one guy who wouldn't even be doing what he's doing without Israel fucking up their own ceasefire.
Either everyone is a "pedo", or no one is.
And I'm more inclined to believe the former than the latter.

There are at least 1-3 videos like this, practically every single day.
One of the aspects about the conflict in Somalia that I don't think is talked about enough is that Al-Shabaab has almost as many fighters as the various individual pro-government forces. They are at least the second-largest individual military formation, if not the largest. They are also, I would argue, the most professional in terms of military skill.
Everyone acts surprised when they do a major attack ("how could they, they are just a small group!"), but in reality, the fighting is a very near-run thing.
I check war monitors on social media almost every day, and there is always a video from Somalia of Al-Shabaab attacking/raiding Somali units.
People also seem to forget that Al-Shabaab maintains territory, and weirdly has a pseudo-relationship with various international humanitarian organizations (this relates to things like preventing disease among the civilians, providing aid etc...).
Tl;Dr: Al-Shabaab, for all the terroristic violence they engage in, have "legitimized" themselves to a large degree.
Resist all the tyrants of the world
And declare yourself a human
Or you will live in humiliation
And surely die a coward
