I think that food stamps only enforce poverty. People can only use them on food and can't do anything with the ones that remain so they just buy more food. People can't save up by smart purchasing decisions. If you look in the US the most common purchases with them are sodas and sweets.

@matrix @igel consoomers aren't real humans. they're soulless automatons masquerading as people.

yeah people are abusing capitalist markets to put the poor at a great disadvantage, but you all throw the baby out with the bathwater

most people i see complaining about capitalism are nearsighted because they happen to be poor. that isnt their fault, yes theyre getting screwed over under the current system, so am i, but im still a capitalist because i believe in what it *can* be

@mewmew Yeah, everyone knows the black people are all going to vote for Biden so they can stay black

@sjw@neckbeard.xyz @matrix ever fuck someone's armpit? feels pretty nice.

Who among us would not wear their sickest cat shirt to witness Christ's resurrection of Lazarus?

("Triptych of the Micault Family" by Jan Cornelisz Vermeyen, mid-1500s)

@matrix You can't show a swastika in Germany, it's illegal.

Don't you just love it how every western nation swears up and down that freedom of speech is a human right, and then deny it to their citizens?

What a time to be alive.

imagine being a diaper fetishist who also hates scat
that must be hell

you ever see someone post stupid sociopathic shit constantly and it's always so mind numbingly dumb or absurd that you wonder whether they're actually just that stupid, or if they're suffering from some kind of disorder that impairs their ability to feel normal human emotion, or if it's all just some absurd long haul trolling attempt?

"This ties in with the fallacy that if an action is not illegal, it is right and should not be challenged (including both posting a comment and the assembly of an abusive mob to relentlessly harass the commenter). Posting an opinion of Brexit, or a comment that you made 10 years ago, or speaking to a public figure with the wrong views (to name a few examples) should not result in you and your family being threatened, your personal details revealed, harassed online and in real life, psychological abuse and the permanent erasure/tainting of your public persona, all because a internet mob minority cannot tolerate an opposing view point."
"In the UK at least, people can certainly be arrested for online comments that are deemed to be offensive (not necessarily even threatening). For 'non-crime hate incidents', the police have called individuals instructing them to 'check their thinking'. This isn't an issue with law enforcement at all, it is a problem with the culture that allowed this to become a crime." Oof. I miss the days when this didn't happen.

shitty pro life tip

@Talloran @tuxcrafting how will this prevent abortions?

"The problem is that there’s all this talk about ‘rights’ (ie how you deserve to be treated as a person) but hardly any talk about responsibility (ie holding oneself accountable). Hence, movements that are meant to ‘empower’ people cannot do so because everyone is so focused on how they deserve to be treated in an ideal world without taking into consideration that we don’t live in an ideal world."
