So, the original 13 star flag represents the founding ideals of the US - freedom, liberty, small government, rebellion, revolution, etc. Theoretically, burning a 50 star flag to replace it with a 13 star flag would mean "I love the ideals America was founded on, and I love what this country was and what it represents, but I despise what is has become".
