I won't spoil the ending, but the story shows no mercy to these monsters, even after humanizing them, and if it were anyone else's story I would say it's to make us question if our heroes are really good guys themselves, but since it's King I think he just really hates child abusers that much and wants to make their suffering as ugly as possible not to elicit sympathy, but, as one character says to them in the story, "it's what you deserve."
