Yes, they do have a point.
According to political triangle, there are two absolutist ideologies and one libertarian.

Commies are absolutist, but they do not care about their own sins. On the other hand, when they keep pushing their shit on libertarians, they are left no choice, but to unite with the 3rd faction in order to fight them back.

So in short, all they see is bunch of libertarians allying with fascists for "no reason at all".
