@matrix it wouldn't be too bad if every single game about "mental illness" was either about depression or dysmorphia.
i like to the moon, which is about Asperger's. i think hellblade would have been good (psychosis) if it wasn't so god damn annoying. i'd like to see more games tackle OTHER mental issues. or even just other issues in general, for instance that dragon cancer dealing with, well, cancer. of course, that and to the moon aren't exactly "games" and more like interactive experiences, but you get the point.
however, i will say that celeste and omori both have awesome gameplay. maybe the stories/messages can be a little bit pretentious or whatever but they have some unique things going on for them still.
and then you have silent hill 2, the greatest horror game of all time. all of the characters have some mental issues, but i think the best one by far is angela, who suffers from guilt, PTSD, and depression. no spoilers here but the end of her story is brutal. fuck, the endings of the game in general are all pretty brutal in one way or another.

For instance, I could spend an hour now describing exactly how autism did affect my life. Where is the core of misunderstandings. What caused the most pain, and why I seriously don't feel like a crippled person, but after that, 99 percent of people would just respond with "nah, you're just an asshole" or something.

Well, not here, but definitely in general population.
