Was scrolling through Instagram videos and there was one of a mom and her daughter dressing identically and doing a little dance, and EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS was saying shit like "you are grooming her!" and sexualizing the fuck out of it.

The normies are not okay, man. What kind of mental torment/gymnastics do you have to go through to see that and view it as sexual?? :meru_amgry_succ_noises:

Since you were a little child
In every single TV show. In every news segment. From every adult. All I ever heard was:
> Fucking kids is bad. Looking at kids is bad. Helping kids is prety much grooming. Joking with kids is predatory etc.

Any interaction of above 18 with below 18 is shown as not only illegal, but straight up evil. And this was done for so long, that now, people no longer have the mental framework of how to treat kids at all in a non-structured way.

That last part is key, and it's what makes me think the "pedo panic" of the Sinead O'Connor era was a psyop. Not that people don't groom kids or worse, but that it caused the wrong type of paranoia. Nevermind that molestation frequently happens in structured environments (like schools), we can't let the neighbor who is a grandpa with grandkids out of state (splitting up families is its own problem) take our son fishing because surely that's a grooming setup! Hell, I've even dealt with self-policing stuff as a dad when I'm playing with my own kids and one of their 'friends' they just made comes up to me and wants to join us or is talking to me. Who is going to see the grown man playing soccer with their kids (and my own) and think they need to call the cops? You don't know these days, and it's sad.

I remember, that I was at my sister's house, and her kid just lied back to back with me. (he needed a few minutes rest)

I knew it was normal, and I knew he felt safer that way... But the programming was screaming in my brain. Because that was not something the current framework considers normal.

That moment kinda broke me on the topic.

@LukeAlmighty @BowsacNoodle I had a little girl come up to me and give me a hug while I was performing a few weeks ago and I froze for a second, freaking out that if I hugged her back her parents would get mad at me or something. I ended up doing it anyway because how am I gonna just not hug a kid who is happy to see me? But still, the fact you even have to worry about that shit sucks.
