The game is absolutely mid, but the support is so great, that I had to buy it just out of the principle.
Just look at KSP2 FFS. It's such a different story, that it cannot even be called the same industry.

Although, I never thought about the economics of continual development.
A new player who pays the full price of the game is worth 2 old ones buying some 1/2 priced DLC. So, It makes sense, that keeping a good will, that attracts new players can be enough of a monetization in order to keep free updates flowing 🤔
