In case you were wondering about marketing a new game, it seems, that a strong character design was just confirmed to be 100 times more effective, then I could have immagined.
Here are recent examples.
1) Pal world is a fucking empty nothing game. It might be insanely well done, but it is not a franchise yet.... BUT!!! If you told me right now, that an anime is comming out, exploring the 4 bosses, I would run to buy some chips NOW!!! Because I want to see, what kind of people are they.
2) A friend of mine watched 5 Star Wars movies now, just because in Acolite, there was the character of Qimir. I can complain about that shitty show all day long, but that character had a presence strong enough to introduce an entierly new audience to already dead franchise.
3) Well....... This abortion
My point is, that I am starting to consider, just how insanely visual people actually are. I never actually thought about it. Try thinking about your presentation too. Take a few risks with your presentation.
@beardalaxy
I still think that is mostly an outdated assumption though.
@LukeAlmighty idk, I guess it really depends on the vibe you're going for
@beardalaxy @LukeAlmighty don't, that's how we got localisation 💀
@LukeAlmighty it'll also be different for every region. Lots of marketing goes into it.
