Do Americans seriously use more then 1 credit cards? (the ones, that allow for loans)

@LukeAlmighty Yeah. It's quite usual for Ameritards to get more and more credit cards in order to pay the loans of the previous credit cards they got.

@fuxoft
Yeah, but I wanted to ask burgermen about it. It's kinda hard to believe :D

@LukeAlmighty I saw rather brutal documentary about exactly this American phenomenon about 30 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember the title or any details. It showen a family that owned literally dozens of credit cards and was constantly looking for new banks that were willing to give them new credit cards so that they could pay their oldest card loans...

Today it's probably different and the banks are able to inform other banks "Don't lend to those people"

@zatrsakr @fuxoft
Wait... So, the entire point is, to remove the "emergency funds" concept from your brain, and replace it with "safe to borrow margin"?

That's so evil....

@LukeAlmighty @zatrsakr Yeah, that's it. It's just evil moneylenders preying on financially weak, with some extra steps so it isn't so obvious.

@LukeAlmighty some are really that retarded. Almost everyone has a credit card for fuel that they don't think of as a credit card (to be fair, many of these do not begin charging interest if the balance is paid off in a given time period.) Then there are those of us who refuse all such credit scams because we're not fucking retards.
@LukeAlmighty which is retarded? the usury, the credit cards, or the people who use them?

@jeremiah
Well, it obviously works, so not the companies. But In here, a lot of people out outright avoiding Tesco for going too hard on it's sale card. And that one doesn't even offer loans. It just unlocks sales by itself.

@jeremiah
Of course, in case of Tesco, the sale means 4 times the base price, but with 70% sale on their card.

@LukeAlmighty most groceries here have those, called "loyalty programs" or "savings cards". They're a physical version of a browser cookie to track purchasing.

I believe that with facial recognition technology, we'll see these go away.
@LukeAlmighty Different companies and banks offer different discounts if you use their specific cards for select specific purchases, so to optimize savings, you should have many cards for different purposes. (It is fucking stupid)
