This is an interesting world view. Although I seriously do disagree with the "individualistic" part, the rest is on point.
But the coldness is not the cause in my opinion. I think that the true problem with this society is not described with the word "cold" but "deaf".
I see many people in this word going through their rutine not seing or hearing desperate pleas for help from the closest ones around them. Even people in "debates" usually just listen for weak point in the arguments to exploit instead of focusing on the pain behind the arguments.
The cold feeling of society seems like an inevitable consequence, since no matter how much you scream, they will not hear you. People were never tought how to listen. And the few truly open people in this society are usualy that way only after they were forced by a huge pain to slow down.

I think, if I had to describe our current era with a word, it would be 'cold'.
Everything corporations and small companies do has no substance to me. It looks like they just do stuff in a minimalist way to cut funding and maximize the profit, with this shitty mentality of using buzzwords to try to make their products and services look meaningful when they are not.
Music today is all about sex and... nothing. Literally, some songs just have no meaning at all. They are boring, they all sound the same, and people keep playing that stupid "reggaeton" music over and over that sounds literally the same. And every song uses autotune to make their voices sound better than they really are.
Society is cooooooold... cold and individualistic. Nobody cares about love. Nobody cares about friendship. Everything is about drugs and sex and power and posing on the internet to gain social credits. It's so awful... no wonder why there is an alarming decrease in birth rates in the world.
And then computers sucks... yeah, you can still do cool stuff, but you don't feel rewarded because of it. Companies only exploit "millenials" to code frameworks in shitty high level languages and platforms, and it's all about joining pieces already made rather than actually developing something.
And then there is the whole massive surveillance drama, the artificial intelligence (AKA machine learning) problem, the "deep fakes", and all the 2020 problems.
