@weeb moderation is the problem, not the solution...

Same as any kind of government when you think about it...

@SteveTheDragon and makes sence, since who the fuck is supposed to understand what you're mumbelimg under that thing...

@weeb
That is how I plan on using a GPD win once I can afford one...

@brother
>Politicians are generally not scientifically literate and almost never give a single shit about the idea of truth, at all.

I am not going to argue with that one. :tanya_evil_laugh:

I was just too focused on the term "new strain". Not because it means nothing, but because siplified terms like this one lead to people misunderstanding basic concepts... excuse my autism :ablobparty:

@brother you hot me wrong. I said there is a shift in the average virus. In other words, I do believe in a new strain. (Obviously)

What I was saying is that in the same way you can see many different europeans and asians, there was a gradual change from their ancestor, and every individual has a different genome. Nothing more.

@brother I might be missing something, but this seems just like a moronic wording from the author.

Yes, there was a mutation, but there was not explained, how rare mutations really are and how many of them happen at once. Every person might get infected by one virus, but when you have millions of them inside your body, while you can still average, many individual viruses in your body should be very different from others.

Not to mention, that a random virus from your body will become the new generation origin in a new host.

I wrote this to explain, that I do not believe, that there even is somerhing like 'a new strain' that did an evolutionary jump, but a conserning shift in the mean. Sadly, people love to miss-qote badly done research so they can claim BS later... but you already do know 'I fucking love science' group, so there is no point in metioning that mess.

@brother
Actually one of the problems is in the way we are teaching science in school. We teach science with theories and las rather then obsrrvation, inference and debate. That gives the impression of impossibility or something when talking about things which don't match the laws.

@georgia We live in a universe in which, as I posted earlier, a slime mold can learn to navigate a maze. There are parasitic plants that can identify potential hosts from up to six feet away and gauge their health, picking healthier specimens over less healthy ones. And let's not even talk about ants and their endless series of hive-wars against each other.

For whatever reason, psychic activity does not seem to require a *brain.* Alarming. Expanding further, who says it requires organics at all?

@fp@fuwa.pink the closes I was able to find so far was Kenshi. Obviously not a perfect match, but it is quite a game.
