Ok, this but unironically.

It is so fucking annoying, when after a few scenes you get so immersed in the story, you just run through the entire game, and spoiling the scenes...

But it did happen to me before. That is when you know it was a great game.

I would guess there is the gatekeeping.

You want fedi to grow, but not at a price of getting in too many normies. That would cause more damage then good.

I find the entire idea of soldier mind interesting. On one hand, you need to break their mind, so they don't think about dying or killing.

On the other hand, creativity goes out of the window with the will. At least I would expect.

What exactly is the mindset they are aiming for?

I played one of these. A Star wars themed.
The getcha moment was not even the lootbox mechanic, but an exponential leveling cost for your characters. By the time I quit, it took me months to get a single character that one level higher...

Months of 30 min a day... every single day.
