Also, the obvious.
If your character is crippled, It makes for new obstacles. If the dungeon is already wheelchair accessible, then the character being crippled becomes an esthetical choice.

@corfiot @LukeAlmighty couple of years ago WotC released a few modules for D&D 5 with "wheelchair-accessible dungeons". I.e. your character could be bound to a chair and still walk through them.

I literally have no idea how, why, and for whom. Don't ask.
