I had talked about this with my father recently, and he told me this observation:

> It's kinda funny, but there were teachers who treated kids as equals, and teachers, who saw themselves as an authority. And not a single teacher who treated kids as equal ever had a single problem with you. :MonkaThink:

And my 2nd grandma had died.
I saw her once in my life though. :blobawkward:

Anyway, don't forget to call your close ones today.

This is why Reddit cannot be fixed. An honest advice on how to earn respect from teenage boys... -4 point.

A "fuck them" response... no pushback.

@picandor
He's a hippie comedian. Why would the cathedral be afraid of him?

@PunishedD @eidolon @dave
Well, I am talking about my opinion, that resulting to "parental authority" (meaning listen or you will die) is a temporary solution, that will give you the action today, but will fuck up the kids entire life instead.

And I know, that most parents are too stupid to see it. They can be well meaning, but that doesn't matter 20 years later.

@picandor
It's the same as with HR.

> "If we're going to hire some feminists to HR, it's not like it's gonna affect the rest of the company." :blobcatcoffee:

@picandor
I might be dumb, but this seems like a an expected result, not an adversarial relationship.

But I am afraid of china-indoctrinated blackrock. Because the synthesis will be created.

:comfychef:

@PunishedD @eidolon @dave
And stop assuming everyone has loving parents. I could say that it's privileged, abelist or some shit, but the true problem with this assumption is, that it's actually seriously retarded.

@PunishedD @eidolon @dave
Yes, all kids are dumb little shits. Who would have thought.

That isn't an excuse for bad parenting though, and if the only authority you can think of is "they bought my food", then guess what? That authority is gone now.

@PunishedD @LukeAlmighty @dave that's lazy and why kids learn to believe their parents are retarded ngl

@PunishedD @eidolon @dave
And yes, I was one of the kids, who used to have "problems with authority". How could you tell :omegalul:

@PunishedD @eidolon @dave
Also, yes, some parents do have an authority. But they do have it, because they can earn it by their every day actions. If they cannot explain why cleaning your room is a good thing though, then I have no empathy for them once their kid loses the last spec of respect they used to feel towards them.

It is their fucking job after all.
