That is, because for boomers, TV is a primary sensory organ. Until the TV tells them, that childish fantasies are OK, they won't see it. Because they didn't hear it from the experts.

I hope you like horror movies.

In all seriousness, one thing I find strange is that most parents are more concerned about what their kids see in media than how they actually behave.

My kids have been watching horror flicks since they were born. Nonetheless, they're really sweet.

The other day, my daughter, who's absolutely hyper af and goofy, was being crazy af. I asked her what goes on in her head. Her literal response, "running, screaming, violence, and other things.... oh.... and dead unicorns."

Tonight she told me she wanted to read me a book she wrote. Tells me the it's about a cat. She then opens it and begins meowing while flipping the pages. 😭

@cowanon
I think that is because of postmodern philosophy, where their one true belief is literally to try inverting every single axiom they can find.

Also, that is how you know it's sot a natural philosophy, but a biological weapon dropped on thee west.

The weirdest thing about these people (whatever they're being called this decade: politically correct in the 90's, SJWs in the 00's, woke in the 10's, plain ol' libshits or commies in the 20's) is that they seem to be under a magical curse which makes them not only always wrong, but the opposite of true or correct. Like if you tasked one to boil a kettle full of water, xir would stick it in the freezer then scream about orange nazi when you told them the kettle was full of ice.

@Mr_NutterButter
I have seen people literally misinterpret Matrix as an allegory for cutting your balls off, so I know what you mean.

I love to listen to Wisecrack philosophy videos, since they get it wrong literally every single time.

What I've seen is that a lot of children who go to public school border on being sociopathic. My wife has actually caused a few of the neighborhood kids to change their ways though, and by doing what neither the school nor their own parents do — setting clear boundaries.

Our house is the go to house, so that gives her a lot of leverage, and she's uses it to do good by them.

@Humpleupagus
I am happy to hear that.
The uncontrolled tribal culture the young kids have to live in is not something I would wish on any child.

I cannot be the only one who noticed, that mentally unstable homeless people tend to have the calmest and best trained dogs under the sun.

I guess it's purely, because they spend 100% of their time with them... Kinda makes me think about the way we raiseour kids though.

@cowanon
Unironically, I had to explain this to 3 different millenial managers at my last job.

But also, kind of worse, since I repeatedly told them, that I am happy to specialize in "whatever the company needs". they couldn't understand I didn't have my career planned out several reassignments ahead.

She might be hyper, but she absolutely doesn't sound deep.

So, I doubt she pulled any of the useful Autistic cards.

Today PirateSoftware volunteered to let himself be lynched by a youtuber psychiatrist for a few hours and almost cried several times as he was called a arrogant narcissist, only to be pacified moments later for another gut punch by having his ego stroked just a bit each time.

@Aldo2
Bro, I asked you because I wanted to know your anwser without reading through pages of shilling for pedophilia. There was no gatcha.

Are you paranoid or something?

@Aldo2
Now a "serious question" for you vaushie...

Since the begining of the culture war 15 years ago, was there some assumption about the right, that turned out to be wrong on a philosophical level?

@LukeAlmighty because self help involves thinking for yourself, not blindly trusting authorities. not doing this questions their world.

@Sophistifunk@noauthority.social @bonifartius
Yeah, I know exactly who you mean, because I spent a lot of time listening to the scammers too.

But, I didn't throw money at them. I am not retarded. Instead, I watched their videos, since the videos were literally the same self help concepts that I actually needed well summerized.... and then the idiot bait at the end.

When someone explains to you budgeting, fixed vs variable expenses etc, does it really matter to you, that there is an idiot bait at the end?
