A GPU contains lot of processors that are specialized at limited graphical and vector tasks and therefore do those tasks very fast, but can't do other processing operations.
Memory buses are often shared to ensure that the cores are sufficiently fed with the data to process.
Libraries like OpenCL can be used to convert general operations into specialized operations and then process them very fast in parallel on the thousands of GPU cores.

I remember, while playing Breath of the wild, I was seriously reading, where is an area with enough space/terrain diversity to fit an event. And it didn't even have to be the skill island, but individual fields or mountain peaks.
A few things offend me to a core as much as a 10g milk packages for my coffee.
