So the death rate, far from being 4 or even 10% as irresponsible idiots are claiming

Please note the favorable outcomes presume you can get access to a hospital if needed. If we are unlucky enough to all catch this and need help in a short period, the hospitals will be overwhelmed. If we are successful in “flattening the curve”, you will see very low fatality rates. This is a big “X factor” for the US, as we aren’t sure how flat our curve is going to be.

Another consequence is going to be for people with respiratory issues that aren’t COVID. If you have a big problem with emphysema and show up at the hospital and all the ventilators are being used on COVID patients, you’re dead just the same.

@lovelymiss The Declaration of Independence states specifically: "Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

Well, I hereby revoke my fucking consent.

The Mad Pirate :verified: ( Stephen Mallory mode: ON ) @TheMadPirate Stop saying that people are collaborating to fight the Wuhan virus out of “selflessness”, “altruism” or “empathy”.

STOP IT!. They are NOT.

People are donating money and resources out of self interest, out of the fact that, as a global pandemic, the virus can very well kill them or their family members.

As a matter of fact, nobody in the west cared much about the Chinese virus when it was killing mostly asians and middle easterns. People in the west didn’t freak out until the virus reached Italy, because it was no not a threat to them.

So no, there won’t be a new “global communism” or “newfound global solidarity” out of this, because there is no “altruism” to begin with.

That moment when you find a 5 year old video that is better then everything you saw in last 5 years combined...
