Once again, I am immensely grateful to the men who raised me. Dads are supposed to teach you some measure of scrappiness, the idea that even if you're on the losing end you can hold your head high afterwards. Just the fact that he's got that classic posture that says
"Oh shit am I being hit? this can't be happening! This shouldn't be happening! You can't just HIT people, that's illegal! Where are the police! Am I still being hit?!?!?! STILL?"
No wonder he runs to the cops. I doubt he ever had a father in life, or a good one, that taught him any kind of honor between men. His big hogtalkin' online is already the stuff of spiritual she-boons, but jumping to external authority figures to clean up the mess he invited into existence is supremely "yeah my dad was a deadbeat who needs 'em!!!! Fuck him!"
Also if you have kids, acquaint them with some violence so they aren't freaking out. You can tell when someone hasn't taken a punch because they get all stuck in their own head thinking all this meta nonsense instead of acting and reacting.
