@SaintGuinefort @Moon @newt Yeah that’s the norm. Most people are low-energy conversationalists, they’re at best a neutral party, and at worst a leech. I don’t really share the same touchstones as the rest, so maybe I’m just ambivalent on a shared pop culture repertoire as everyone else.

I never planned on being the 30 yo dating a 21 yo (narrowly missed that 10-yr gap), but after giving it a shot the big difference is that she’s just not jaded and miserable. Girls are, on average, living pretty rough lives. Not physically, or even economically, but spiritually. (Guys too, but they’re better at leaving it at the door and trying to keep a clean slate in a new relationship)

Has to be brutal for an age group with limited vocabulary. Even as an adult in that environment the safest route is "yes/no" and speak only when spoken to. Silencing like this has some pretty horrible outcomes in the form of insular cliques/gangs and settlement of grievances by means other than diplomacy.

Administrative incompetence strikes again

I'm personally highly skeptical of the COVID "vaccines" (they may be viable treatment options, but calling them vaccines is a misnomer and the entire fiasco screams of insane levels of corruption by the medical industrial complex).

But, liberals widely view the "vaccines" as an important life-saving measure against a terrible global pandemic---even going so far as to espouse that governments ought force this medical procedure involuntarily upon individuals or otherwise coerce and ostracize people who refuse to elect the procedure. How often do we hear the rhetoric:

without the vaccines millions will die!

---That the "vaccines" are that important; That, without the "vaccines", and without their widespread (forced, if necessary) application, millions of people will suffer or perish?

Considering that, how fucked up is it to smugly gloat that a tiny, undeveloped (or "developing") South Asian country is being sanctioned from, in the liberal mind, extremely important life-saving medicine simply because said country refuses to kowtow to performative Western geopolitical ideological demands?

NATO's proxy-war against Russia in the Ukraine is barely relevant to Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi people. It is primarily relevant to Western geopolitical agenda in Eastern Europe. Yet, NATO/states theologically governed by Western liberalism will maliciously and terroristically "punish" uninvolved people on the other side of the planet for lack of "true believer" enthusiasm---tantamount to heresy.
