Twitter's too smart for binary shadowbans. It's harder to notice when your message is still visible, just to something like 10% of its usual audience. "Well I'm still getting a few likes, so I guess I'm not shadowbanned" people figure. There is concrete evidence this is happening, as I've compared screenshots with others (i.e. a tweet is visible to me, but invisible to them).
They've also been engaging in a kind of reverse shadowbanning as well, to prevent discussion. Many started noticing around October last year.
Your message still gets out to some people, and they can even reply to it, but large swaths of those responses (sometimes 100% of them) are invisible to you and each other.
Idk if there's a term for it because it's not like one person getting muzzled, but groups of users collectively getting deafened.
