Me, more-or-less. I tend to think more about individual behavior and the consequences of individual interactions.
The human body is countless single-celled organisms all doing their own thing and mostly not giving one whit about what the others are up to despite always interacting, interconnecting, and being interdependent one way or the other.
Hell, each cell is its own megalopolis of decillions of creatures doing all the above, and each of those creatures are themselves decillions of even smaller things and processes.
Zoom out, and it's the same thing: humans doing their own thing in their own particular city and/or family/friend group etc. Zoom out again and now these groupings are interacting and interconnecting like living beings themselves. Zoom out some more, and.. are we at nations? The whole of Earth? This arm of the Milky Way? Virgo Supercluster? Is the Virgo Supercluster a living being interacting with other superclusters interacting with other superclusters over the span of billions of years?
I forgot where I was going with this, except "something something politics irrelevant blah blah".
