you cant use humor with college professors because humor isnt foonoted, and that makes them really really nervous because it calls into question their only stock in trade.

i can honestly i only enjoyed writing one paper in college, in which i tried to destroy my prof's love of the short-story writer Raymond Carver

in the end, it's not your education that matters. it's how intensely you feel about something, how driven you are to pursue it and get it right and really use yourself up in it. then you have something.
