@matana I think I remember you mentioning you have written story's before and I was wondering where's a good place to learn how to write?

@Mr_NutterButter @matana something that might help you a lot is looking at critiques of video game stories, they usually go over stuff pretty in-depth. that, and d&d dungeon master videos. obviously you can skip the stuff that's more mechanics-based, but thinking of your characters as "players" in your story can help you get in their heads and think of what they might do.

when you're making characters too, before you even integrate them into the story, just write down what their appearance is like in detail, write about what they like and dislike, their hobbies, what job they have, what sort of prejudices they have, if they have a family, and a general backstory for them. the more you know your characters, the more you'll be able to make them feel real.

do the same thing with your world. you don't have to know EVERYTHING about it, but you should know far more than you'll ever explicitly tell the reader. you want to know what your characters know about the world, and what they don't know that they will find out.

it's best to start from the structure and bones of the world and the characters first before you start truly writing the story.

then after that you can make a rough draft, get down story beats and specific character building moments that you want to include. then flesh it out after that.

if you want advice on anything in particular feel free to ask :)

@beardalaxy @matana thanks I just really want to write a story about the feeling of avoiding who you could be or what you could become because you don't want other people to treat you different and you want everything to stay the same.
