I just decided that I want to buy Forza 4.
There are 3 editions. What do they offer? I don't know. Will buying the most expansive one contain additional content, or are these a "skip the game" DLCs? I don't know. I don't want to spend next 4 hours looking up forums to lean, what downloadable content is in each version. New maps and events sound good, but do the car packs contain cars I could have earned IN THE GAME? Or even worse, will owning these cars ruin the game? It did happen to me before many times, that DLC that I bought had completelly ruined the early game balance.

>guy has issue with game A
>offer him a different game from a completely different genre
Sounds reasonable.

Then recommend he buys the old Assetto Corsa, and get more modded cars and tracks than he can count. + he gets to play a decent racing sim.
The Ultimate Edition is on sale now for 8€.

Unfortunately no. Unless you go the seafaring route. There is a slight downside that the community launcher used for modding was build around assuming Steam, and you need to change a setting for it to work.

The devs are still around, working on the successor: Assetto Corsa Competizione. But this one has less mod support, and the focus is less on car & track diversity, and more at being an ultimate racing sim for GT3 category.
