I'm having a strong WTF moment right now. Over a third of their energy is still fossil fuels. You'd think that if they think they can afford to close something down, the FIRST on the chopping block would be the coal burning.

I already knew what Germany did here was stupid as hell, but I assumed that their fossil energy had already dropped to insignificant levels. Like at most 5-10%, and they needed to keep them up because they're more flexible in adapting to changes in demand.

You know what's funny about the whole zero-carbon push? Because scientists and governments are basically unwilling to consider geoengineering as a solution to global warming, even if you do reach and even exceed whatever random target they decide on for global net zero, it doesn't really matter. On the long run we're still fucked. You already have enough CO2 in the atmosphere for feedback to happen, the climate will continue warming up, the sea will continue to rise, for decades to come.

Technically, H-bombs are more powerful, but the average normie would lump that in with regular plutonium nukes as just being another type of nuclear bomb.
Only other thing more powerful would be a matter-antimatter bomb, but I don't think anyone has the technology to safely make one, least of all Russia.
