Don't know if the issue is solely that the bluetooth standard is bad. My hunch is that it's a combination of bluetooth being badly implemented by manufacturers and people using it poorly.

Bluetooth devices are supposed to be able to remember and easily reconnect to whatever other bluetooth thing they were connected to last. Makes things easier for stuff like bluetooth mice, or if signal breaks down and comes back.
If the user doesn't want this to happen, it is up to him to break this connection manually, to unpair them in some way.
But manufacturers also rarely make this process easy or convenient, and then there's the double mistake of: if I'm playing music on a phone to some bluetooth earbuds or even wired ones, then a different paired bluetooth speaker comes in range, the audio should NOT automatically switch to the new one. At most maybe have a prompt notifying you of the option.

One example that I encounter, is that I have a pair of earbuds, that if I manually disconnect (but not unpair) from my phone and then shut them off, they remember that disconnect, and won't autoconnect the second I turn them on again.
But a separate, cheaper device, doesn't remember that disconnect, and will ALWAYS try to connect to the phone when I turn it on. So for this device, I end up pairing and unpairing quite often, depending on whether I want it to reconnect next time around.

As for the greentext story... Apple probably plays fast & loose when it comes to respecting bluetooth standards. Remember how you can't send files between iPhone and Android? Well, I don't think they gave much of a crap about safety & privacy when they made their pods pair seamlessly in their ecosystem.
I wouldn't be surprised if the story is based on true events. Maybe grandma didn't die, but someone heard something they shouldn't have.

People give each other the flu all the time, either intentional or by accident, and we don't hang people over it. Most STDs are perfectly treatable, so there's no significant difference from those to any other disease people can catch.

Now, society does have exceptions for AIDS level STDs, where you need to disclose this fact before having sex with someone. If someone fails to disclose, that's a crime (in most civilized places). If after disclosing, people still want to have sex... well... if people consensually give each other STDs, that's not my business. I think they're being stupid, but if they want to get AIDS, and then abide by the rule of disclosing their condition to any other potential partner, then I simply do not care. There is no harm being caused there, because people who could potentially be harmed are informed, and the choice is in their hands.

As for "pop new STDs into existence", most known STDs exist since time immemorial. There are all kinds of mummies and ancient human remains that have been diagnosed to have had things like syphilis or gonorrhea. Monkeypox is not new either. The recent scare is just a slight mutation. And it's not even a proper STD, cause you can catch it by regular skin contact. But it got to act like a STD because that's when people are likely to get a maximum amount of skin to skin contact.
AIDS seems to be somewhat new in the grant scheme of things. But it didn't exactly pop into existence from gay people fucking each other. Last I checked AIDS originates from Africa, and maybe you're not aware, but most African... civilizations are about as fond of homosexuality as you seem to be.

All human interaction is a public health risk. But I doubt you'd deny people's right to walk out their door without wearing multi-layered face masks, surgery gloves, and who knows what else.

If you want to argue their behavior poses a burden on the medical resources, and as such their behavior should be restricted, that is an interesting argument to be had. But it's a far bigger discussion than just "muh gayz", that will eventually reach the issue of things like vaccinations. And I promise you, whatever your political position is, such a discussion is gonna lead into things you staunchly disagree with.

I remember the good old days of Windows 98, when this would work. I remember intentionally doing this once, just before I had planned to reinstall my OS. I couldn't get everything deleted, but enough did, and the system started crapping itself pretty fast.

View counter is a bit useless on something like Twitter, because it's too easy to scroll past a post without paying attention to it. Transparency is good, but a bit pointless here.

Had a dream that I was back in school, and I was taking a test in Counter-Strike weapons. I had to write short paragraphs on various topics regarding guns of my choice, like describing various pros and cons of a gun. I think I had around 5-6 guns I had to talk about.

The annoying part was, there was too much noise in the classroom, people talking, some trying to ask for my help with something. I specifically remember someone asking me what are the cons of a Famas. It made for a very stressful environment, and I had a though time concentrating. Which just made my anxiety grow. I was already at an disadvantage, because I'm not much of a CS player, but now I couldn't even focus on the few things I did know.

In a way that's what iOS does, by disallowing access to files. You'll interact with your note taking app, for example, but you'll never see where and how it stores the notes.

Personally I hate the idea of hiding the workings of my system like that. It just treats you like a stupid child. And I believe that if you treat someone like a stupid child, they'll eventually become one.
