"Public figures often apologize after making controversial statements. There are reasons to believe, however, that apologizing makes public figures appear weak and risk averse, which may make them less likeable and lead members of the public to want to punish them. This paper presents the results of an experiment in which respondents were given two versions of two real-life controversies involving public figures. Approximately half of the participants read a story that made it appear as if the person had apologized, while the rest were led to believe that the individual had stood firm. In the first experiment, hearing that Rand Paul apologized for his comments on civil rights did not change whether respondents were less likely to vote for him. When presented with two versions of the controversy surrounding Larry Summers and his comments about women scientists and engineers, however, liberals and females were more likely to say that he should have faced negative consequences for his statement when presented with his apology. The effects on other groups were smaller or neutral. The evidence suggests that when a prominent figure apologizes for a controversial statement, individuals are either unaffected or become more likely to desire that the individual be punished."

If I wanted to be pedantic, I'd point out that in fact every time we access a memory, there's always a slight chance that you'll remember it imperfectly, and slightly alter how the memory is stored in your brain, because you're technically continuously overwriting it whenever you think about it. Over many years, memories can in fact change.
But I don't want to be pedantic, so yeah, what a silly song!

Not gonna lie, I was thinking the same thing the other day. African-Americans these days are so ignorant and removed from the days of actual oppression, that they don't even know what a noose is supposed to look like. Pathetic if you ask me.

If we're talking about the rest of the sex workers, I can accept that "manipulation" is too harsh a word, but for twitch e-thots, from what I've seen so far, it's too lenient of a word imo.

The e-thots thing is kinda new, so who knows how that will evolve. Something I keep remembering though, is how in porn men make practically nothing when doing straight porn, and the only time they actually make good money, is when they do gay porn, that is probably also consumed mostly by men (gay men).
The sex industry in general seems uniquely one-sided, and I just think it's interesting, and something work thinking about every once in a while.
I'm not calling for any kind of change or revolution, it's just a food for thought thing.
If person A is highly addicted to thing X, and person B, knowing this full well, keeps shoving it in person A's face constantly, desperately trying to get them to buy it, does this still count as a consensual transaction exchange, or where does it start veering into manipulating territory?

1) how many male prostitutes are there?
2) how expensive are they compared to female prostitutes?
Note, I'm talking about sex work in general, so including stuff like porn, cam girls etc. And in these cases at least, we already know that women are the ones that make the vast majority of money. I have no idea how male prostitutes fair, so it's hard to account how they would be included in this.
My intuition tells me they're probably making no where near the same kind of money as the female counterparts, but it's just an intuition.
