@icedquinn
That "adaptive JPG Compressor" is a complete joke.
His preview image weighs in at 196kb, and has so much destroyed details in the hair, and smudgy, blurry compression artifacts in the background, that it's not even funny.

I downloaded his preview png, saved it as 92% jpeg in Gimp, takes up only 116kb, and still looks better in every way.

Either he fucked up his preview images without realizing, or his script is a complete farce.

>jxl gets blurrier
This is why I'm curious how much you're compressing in the first place, cause I find webp blurry even at >90.
Jxl is quicker to get to a blurry mess than Avif, but I had to go way down to achieve it.

@icedquinn
I'm curious what webp encoder you found that is competitive with jxl. I mean sure, you can get any lossy compressor to get incredibly small file sizes if you sacrifice quality, but when having decent quality is your first metric, I'd still rather use jpeg over webp.

Jesus christ! I've told you before to be careful not to post these things publicly! Just call my phone to ask, like a normal person!

If the i7 is ram upgradable, get the i7 8gb, and upgrade when you can afford it.
If ram upgrade is not an option, get the i5.

The difference is the nature spot where you have a picnic doesn't have employees that are tasked with cleaning up the place.
In the west someone gets to have a job because you littered at the football stadium. :peepoShrug:
I bet in Japan, less people get to be employed to clean and maintain a stadium.

@mangeurdenuage @mystik
Our common sense is that the stadium has employees that get payed to do this, with the money we spent on the tickets. If people were to advocate we clean the stadium ourselves, it could be viewed as us denying those employees the opportunity to be useful to the stadium and thus continue having a job.

I'm not trying to say one approach is better than the other, just explaining how I understand the overall western view on this.
