In DC and even though it's WAY shittier than 6 or 7 years ago when I was here last, it still is kind of motivating to be around buildings and monuments that have been around for 100+ years that have history and are architecturally relevant. @beardalaxy This reminds me of when something mentioned in the topic of discussion can be linked to slavery or something and they feel the need to be like "wow, yikes, by the way guys slavery was bad" it's breaks any interest I have in that so much, those people have this constant paranoia of "can this thing be linked to something that everyone knows was bad and do I have to bulwark myself against anyone who might think I support it?" It throws their entire face of sincerity away.
