@inexcode @matrix @Elfie you're one of my favourite friends. I hope to visit you some day but with pretty much every international flight requiring the mark of the beast and my refusal to get the mark of the beast I'm not sure when I'll be able to.

My passport doesn't expire until 2027 (I will be renewing it) but hopefully I'll be able to visit you before then.

Same goes for you @matrix and @lanodan, maybe even @hj and @lain (assuming I'm not already banned from the EU), @graf and @parker (assuming I'm not already banned from Canada), for @inexcode and @a1ba I doubt I'd have much issue even if I have to proxy though another country (hopefully it doesn't come to that).

For all my Armenian friends, @siinclaiir, @p, @nosleep (hopefully he wins the green card lottery), and everyone else I'm probably forgetting. Even you, @Moon, who I know doesn't want to be in hellthreads, but I'd like to visit you too.

Maybe it's just a pipe dream but I'd really love to visit, have a chat with, hang out, have a beer with, etc. all of the people I look up to on fedi.

Especially the people I'm even closer friends with than I have in real life. Ya know, the once in a lifetime friendship you make with people like @Elfie, @siinclaiir, @RedTechEngineer, @Terry, @Awoo, @redneonglow, @zemichi, @Terry, @RedTechEngineer, @nosleep, etc.

I'd absolutely love to have an opportunity to hang out with all of you and even more people! (I'm sorry I couldn't think of your usernames!)

@sjw @LukeAlmighty Well from what I've gathered, in the US a 2-3h long drive is considered close.

@matrix @sjw @LukeAlmighty maybe it's just a utah thing but holy shit a 2-3 hour drive is the end of the world for most people. my brother only lives like an hour away from me and only ever comes down for holidays. my roommate spends every waking moment of his time off with his girlfriend because she lives an hour away. it's kind of wild. i can't drive but it seems like it wouldn't be that bad to just chuck some music or a podcast on or whatever for the drive.
