@matrix yeah the gamble is whether or not I'll die at work

@beardalaxy @matrix The gamble for you is whether or not your game will be a commercial success.

@xianc78 @matrix oh I'm not gambling on that one, I know it won't be lol

@beardalaxy @matrix If I could make a suggestion, maybe consider using a crowd-tipping service like Patreon, Ko-fi, Librapay, and/or Kuno. You will receive a monthly income if people are willing to donate. You would be expected to post frequent updates, but hopefully, you can get more time to work on your games.

@xianc78 @matrix people would just be paying for news updates more or less. I haven't built the game in a way that I don't feel comfortable letting people outside of my circle play it until the beta is done. Perhaps I could ask for money to get into the beta, but since the game is going to be free with optional paid content, I kind of feel bad doing that.

I'm also in the business of making adventure games with mostly linear stories, so I feel like that's not as good of an approach for rolling releases during development, like early access, as something with a much tighter gameplay loop where they're just adding more content to experience that gameplay loop.
