@xianc78 you can make those kinds of dungeon crawlers in RPG Maker. usually it's reserved for more weird/surreal games though instead of "real" RPGs.
@beardalaxy Are you talking about the pseudo-3D dungeons? I'm just talking about the science fantasy setting.
@xianc78 yeah, the dungeons. that makes sense though lol. i can't think of any immediately off the top of my head. i'd check rpgmaker.net but they're down at the moment, experiencing some difficulties after their server host finally shut down after being on life support for years.
@xianc78 it's funny you mention this though, because before making God's Disdain, back in high school, i was working on a game called Space Heroes. it was about a group of brilliant teenagers who were recruited to work at the United Alliance Space Colony to defeat an alien menace that destroyed a UA ship. it didn't get too far, like most of older projects, but i still have all of the files haha.
in particular, there was a guy who made the music for the game who went HARD and he did it all for free. kind of sad i let him down. no idea where he's at now, can't find anything about him online and the place we talked is gone now.
that's one of the biggest reasons i've been wanting to get God's Disdain done. so many people worked on it man, gave their time to it on my behalf. don't wanna' let them down and let their work go to waste like i did with a bunch of other people in high school when i had no idea what i was doing.
@xianc78 for me, it was just that i always had new ideas that i wanted to work on so i'd just jump ship when a new idea struck my fancy. it's a problem a lot of creatives have and i've had that issue multiple times working on God's Disdain too, but i've just had to more or less push through and keep working on it because i knew if i stopped i'd feel super bad. but i'm glad i went through it because man, i'm proud of the end result.
