inZOI very first impressions

Bought inZOI and played it for about 3 hours. 99% of that time was spent making one character. You can really go pretty in-depth with it. It does need a LOT more clothing options but given that it is early access, I think those will come over time. They have said that all content updates during early access will be completely free, so we'll have to see what gets added.

I popped into gameplay for a tiny bit and it seems VERY much like the Sims but with a few extra things. You can control your selected character directly with WASD for instance, and you can play around with the overall "vibe" of the town with sliders that affect things like crime, relationships, health, and more.

I was watching someone's stream of it and from what I can tell, it does appear that at least currently, the only way you're able to have a child is if you're married. NPCs have established sexual preferences, and you can't enter bathrooms that are for the opposite gender.

I'm going to keep playing it later, I'll let you guys know how it goes!

@beardalaxy something something south korea one of the most authoritarian regimes re: video gaming regulations.

@icedquinn my hope is that mods really blow the lid off any restrictions, because the base game is a really solid foundation and it seems to perform pretty well too.

@beardalaxy we'll see. they don't consider gameplay to be moddable.

@icedquinn we definitely will see

@beardalaxy people said there was no 'work from home' but there actually is. it works the same way as the sims builds without the business expansions.

theres a couple things you can make on computers and sell. seems like you can actually make entry level job money with it too :blobcatdunno:

@icedquinn I saw someone saying that they were crypto scamming as their job in it lol, don't know how true that is but still funny

inZOI very first impressions

@beardalaxy there are options to do scams and/or stonk investing yes. i dunno about them. my hackerdoodle ended up workin in management and i thought about switching to being a reporter because that makes a lot more sense for an individualist but :blobcatdunno: that person is antisocial af though so eehhh

made a new person to be more social.

@beardalaxy i wonder if paralives will come out this year too

that one might do a lot better. they seem to understand the assignment, if a bit.. slow

@icedquinn early access is coming this year supposedly

@beardalaxy @icedquinn I wonder if it could be moddable enough along with having online play so that two people would essentially be playing two different games while being connected to one server.

That's one of Sim's creator, Will Wright's ideas when creating the original Sims, back when it was still called Dollhouse. One person could be playing a restaurant simulator, commanding workers in an RTS-style gameplay while another person could be playing a DOOM-like FPS and try to rob the store, all on the same map.
