man i sure do love watching videos that have really cool information in them told in an exciting and engaging manner only for the dude talking in it to feel the need to morally grandstand about how elon musk and john carmack are pricks at the end after reading off a sponsor for a fucking nft gambling game.

@beardalaxy Can you summarize what he said about Carmack? I know Carmack is friends with Elon Musk, but what did Derrick say about him exactly?
@xianc78 that Carmack was a prick because he dead named Burger Becky as Bill when talking about when she was still a dude (which is when they interacted the most) and used "they" as a pronoun instead of "her." then he went on to joke about how he dead names X as "Twitter" and that Elon Musk is also a prick and he doesn't respect him or his platform.
@pettanko @beardalaxy I used to enjoy him back when he was the HVGN. I learned about a lot of underrated classics (like StarTropics) from him. I even enjoyed some of his SSFF videos as it got me to appreciate the development efforts of even the worst games and consoles.
@beardalaxy This reminds me of when something mentioned in the topic of discussion can be linked to slavery or something and they feel the need to be like "wow, yikes, by the way guys slavery was bad" it's breaks any interest I have in that so much, those people have this constant paranoia of "can this thing be linked to something that everyone knows was bad and do I have to bulwark myself against anyone who might think I support it?" It throws their entire face of sincerity away.
the type of person that will complain about games just not being the same as they used to while all the people who made those games so fuckin great get pushed out of the industry because they aren't in absolute lockstep with the progressive hivemind.
