@coded_artist why is this bad, exactly?
@beardalaxy creates more demand for organ harvesting which is already a vile market, on top of providing a way out for women that shouldn't be reproducing.
@coded_artist nobody is going to illegally harvest wombs for the black market. you have to first realize why the black market for organs exists to begin with, and that's for life saving organs like lung/heart/liver/kidney when they can't be obtained quickly through legit channels. nobody is going to go to the black market for a uterus because their life isn't in danger. the amount of people born without a uterus is incredibly small as well, compared to people dying of organ failure.
then of course you have the fact that this is pretty much brand new tech, that requires a bunch of other brand new tech to work correctly, and needs high compatibility. no point in a black market for that. maybe one day if it becomes way easier and accessible, but for now i don't think the black market is a worry for a womb transplant.
@chainsaw_appreciator @coded_artist i would reason a guess, yeah
@chainsaw_appreciator @coded_artist the market really isn't there for it
@chainsaw_appreciator @coded_artist when you think about the amount of women born without a uterus versus the amount of people who need a heart/lung/kidney/liver transplant, the number probably pales in comparison. isn't worth the hassle, especially because you would also need to get black market immunosuppressants. black market ivf. then a black market c-section. can't imagine anyone is going to do that just because they want a baby lol.
@chainsaw_appreciator @coded_artist well if they're doing it for sport then they would be doing it with or without a woman being able to go get it legitimately done lol.
