Alone In The Dark 2024 Spoilers

Okay so the story is actually really awesome. It blends cult behavior over the course of several different connected cults all staying at Derceto during different periods of time together with some interesting existential, Lovecraftian horror and some sprinkles of other mythologies on top. At first I was a little bit disappointed that I wasn't spending the entirety of the game within the mansion, but it grew on me and the parts where you slipped into Jeremy's mind and memories that were colliding with Derceto were awesome.

The ending I felt was a little bit abrupt, but I mean the game did have to end at some point and the gameplay itself was wearing on me. I'll definitely be looking at the other endings on YouTube and I might check out some reviews to see what other people thought because there is a bit of a lingering desire for more of the game, without necessarily wanting to play it again. Despite there being multiple endings, I don't think the game is very replayable.

I hope there is a sequel at some point! They took a few things from later games in the series it seems, so I'm sure they'd have to do even more reworking with the next one but with how well this reboot turned out from a narrative perspective I can totally see that happening.

I'll leave ya with this "Forbidden Knowledge" I found, which is what you get when you get all the collectibles in a certain set. I liked it quite a bit.

For April Fools' Day, Vinny's band Red Vox made this shitpost of a song about New York called "Garbage Land."

Seeing it debut on the Sunday stream was awesome. Sounds a lot like Beck, if you're a fan of him you'll like this!
