i probably won't get to perform on monday or tuesday ;_; weather is supposed to be pretty bad. that means i'll have skipped two entire weeks. there's not much time left of the season either which is just sad.

i can't wait to see more about rivals of aether 2. the first game is awesome and has probably the highest staying power of any smash-like, but the lack of shields/grabs/ledges throws me off, as does the pixel art style. roa2 solves all of those issues. i can't wait to play it.

just as an interesting note though, here is a painting done by an 8 year old who claimed to have visions of Jesus. there was a man who looked somewhat close to what she had seen so she used his face and tweaked it to paint this. years later a young boy who claimed he visited heaven during a surgery and met Jesus saw the painting and recognized it as Jesus.

make of it what you will, whether it is just a wack story made up by Christians trying to make a dime or if it's real, i still think it's a neat painting (especially for an 8 year old like daaaang) and i can imagine Jesus looking fairly close to this. the picture on the right she made when she was an adult several years ago, basically an updated version.

just remember though, what He looks like is totally irrelevant. as long as He is being portrayed in a way where you can recognize Him as being Jesus. we'll end up knowing what He looks like eventually, it's not something to fret over too much.

@rasterman also interesting to note how fast the whole "game of the year" thing transitioned from being given out by all these different news outlets to the only one actually meaning anything being the one at the game awards. sure, the public "technically" votes for it but they still have a panel and everything. it was more interesting when it was more dispersed, imo.

@rasterman i still think goty will likely go to starfield. if it went to baldur's gate that would be really weird considering it's been in early access for at least a couple years now. i don't think it's fair for those kinds of games to get goty.

i say starfield will likely take goty because as long as it isn't a steaming pile of shit people will probably eat it up and you'll have some recency bias there.

i don't necessarily think zelda is goty material either though, i mean it's really good but damn that story is fucking bad. the core gameplay hard carries it. compare it to something like elden ring... i don't even like souls games but i think elden ring is probably a better game objectively speaking.

i wouldn't be surprised if baldur's gate is actually the better game, though i haven't played it yet. just because it has bear sex doesn't mean it isn't objectively a game with better mechanics and a better story with more meaningful content for its long runtime. haven't played it so i don't know, but man i haven't even beaten zelda yet and it really wore me out.
