@andreas @rosey it's been a long time since i've seen it, but annihilation was really good.

my favorite horror movie is "as above, so below." it's loosely based on dante's inferno and has alchemy stuff in it. i'm pretty sure most of the deaths in that movie are due to the characters' individual hells coming to reap them, essentially. it's a lot more psychological but the death sequences are pretty unique. it also takes place in the paris catacombs so it actually forces the characters to be stuck inside with the horrors instead of them just not leaving for some bullshit reason. critics didn't like it much, but i thought it was really good. it's tomb raider meets dante's inferno pretty much.

i actually thought mama was pretty good too, not super scary but the story was well done iirc. the only death that happens is at the very end and it's super heart wrenching.

Katara redraw.

I liked the sluttness of the undress here.

@rosey it's coming off the heels of me finishing the system shock remake too, which also takes place on a fucked up space station with a rogue AI. it's at least 5x more interesting xD

horror movies don't really do much for me though. they freaked me out when i was 14 watching them on my psp at midnight under the covers, but these days i mostly just find them dumb. even horror games are like that to a certain extent. i'm much more into the psychological horror stuff, especially the kind that's a little cozy in a weird way. though, action horror can still be really fun to watch, it's just not scary. if romulus had a lot more action in it, did a few more over the top scenes, i think i would have enjoyed it more. maybe if all the characters traveled with each other the whole time and just got picked off one by one in big fights or something, idk.

almost done with metal: hellsinger. and by almost done i mean, all achievements. i just need one more. about 6 hours so it's not particularly long by any stretch of the imagination. however, it's really fucking fun. if you like doom 2016 and like rhythm games, you'll enjoy it. it's not as mechanically deep as either genre it mashes together, but it feels good to play so i'd recommend it. i think part of the appeal is trying to go for high scores and stuff but i don't think it's quite interesting enough to play levels over and over to get higher scores. however, it is interesting enough to go for all achievements so that's at least saying something!

it's funny, one of the achievements is to die 20 times, but i only died twice in my playthrough so i had to go farm deaths xD

@rosey as someone who hasn't seen any alien movie ever, i didn't notice it lol. i still thought the movie was just pretty average, though. pretty standard faire for a horror movie where everyone makes weird/stupid decisions in order to push the plot forward. it's not really scary, it doesn't have enough action to be cool, and the story was decent but not particularly compelling. there are so many movies i'd rather watch, even in the same genre.

@applejack based!!!!
$40-$45 is unfortunately still a little too much for me when i've got final fantasy xvi right around the corner, but i hope every one who plays it has a fun time with the game :) i'll probably wait for a sale, or maybe pirate it now and then buy it when it goes on sale for the winter sale or something like that. just don't really have the money atm and might not even have the time xD

@coolboymew @berkberkman @Zergling_man as far as I remember, when they first came out they were actually running Windows and I actually have one of those early ones, little guy is still going and I love him. Then they turned into using Steam OS a few years later, never got one of those.

@berkberkman @coolboymew i think the idea is that since valve has already done REALLY well with the steam deck, they might be able to knock it out of the park with a machine that's meant to go in the living room too.
