@histoire3 i just realized you might be talking about the frame rate, not the spats lol.
yeah it most definitely is tied to logic, but that's not really an excuse in 2026, not even for console development lol. although, i will say that if it was the only way they could figure out to not get stutters, then i'd rather have 60fps. tying everything to frame rate instead of delta time might alleviate stutters, idk.
@histoire3 yeah, idk something tells me she wouldn't be wearing a thong regardless, it would be like just white panties or something like that. some part of me is wondering if the photo on the right (the "uncensored" one) was just some sort of glitch or an unfinished model/texture where they had just painted over her bits real quick. if i find the source I'll post an update.

Mayu is wearing spats in Fatal Frame 2 Remake. I'm seeing an image of her in this position wearing panties instead but I can't find the source for it, so I'm not sure if it was actually censored or if there was just some sort of error? I can't even find a moment similar to this in the originals. Even the earliest gameplay demos in Japanese look like this. As far as I know you're not ever able to look up her skirt in the PS2/Xbox/Wii versions of the game, but idk maybe I just never tried.
Regardless, if it is censored, I'm sure someone will come around to mod it soon enough.
The console version seems to be locked to 30 FPS and you can't turn off the film grain, which looks really shitty in certain spots. Even the PC version is locked to 60 FPS which... just... why? It actually runs really well and didn't hitch or stutter at all in the demo, it seems well optimized and that makes sense considering all the locations in this game are in really small corridors and rooms. So why keep it locked to 60? Japanese developers never fail to make zero sense with their PC ports.

Then there's the fucking music... I have no drive to work on that whatsoever lately which sucks. I got like 5 tracks into it really quickly and then just died.
I've been itching to start working on my new game within rpg maker again, but I've been putting it off due to not having the assets. I don't want to get stuck in the same situation I was in with God's Disdain where I couldn't pivot away from the default graphics in the end because I incorporated them in the design too much. I might try using AI to drum up some placeholder assets or do some really crude drawings in the meantime.
@Druid they don't understand the joy a simple Wendy's burger can bring because they have outclassed it and they're out of touch.
