aaaaaaaaaand it's done! i'll definitely be writing up an EXTENSIVE review whether anyone is interested or not, but the short and sweet of it is that it's a really, really good game with a pretty bad story and just way too much stuff to do in it. not that the stuff you can do is necessarily bad or uninteresting in any way, there is just so much of it that i started to get tired. open world fatigue is very real, and i really, REALLY hope the next zelda reigns it in at least a little bit.
78/100. on the surface, it is one of the greatest games ever made, but past 50 hours you're gonna' start realizing it isn't. there is $70 worth of content there, but is the game worth $70? i don't really think so, especially given the limitations of the hardware it's running on.
just saw another open world rpg maker game. the guy had been working on it for a year and a half and it already had a few hours of content. screenshots looked half decent, still using the default assets.
had me worried for a second. turns out there isn't even a story yet, though. still, i gotta' finish my game quick otherwise all of my ideas are going to seem like i'm copying someone else. i already kind of had that happen to me with breath of the wild releasing with its non-linear story/progression.
